The BMW X5 4.4i was a variant of the E53 BMW X5 that was introduced for the 2000 model year. The X5 4.4i was initially powered by a 282hp version of BMWs M62 4.4L V8 engine, but for the 2004 model year, this was replaced by a 315hp version of BMWs N62 4.4L V8 engine. Both engines were paired to an automatic transmission to send drive to all four wheels. Production of the BMW X5 4.4i ended in 2006 with the introduction of the E70 BMW X5.
