The first generation BMW X3, known as the E83, was introduced for the 2004 model year. Created to sit below the X5 in the BMW model range, the E83 X3 was offered exclusively as a four wheel drive car. Available with either an inline 4 or inline 6 engine, the E83 featured the X3 3.0si as its top of the line variant. Built until 2010, the E83 was replaced by the F25 for the 2011 model year.
