The BMW R50 was a series of motorcycles that debuted in 1956. The R50, along with its siblings, the R50/2 and R50US, was powered by a 500cc horizontally opposed twin engine. In the R50, this engine had an output of 26hp, which drove the rear wheel via shaft drive, which was connected to a four speed transmission. Production of the BMW R50 ended in 1960.
