The Alpina Roadster V8 was introduced for 2003. Based on the BMW Z8, the Roadster V8 featured vastly different dynamic characteristics. Following the Alpina tradition, the Roadster was a car more suited for grand touring than a racetrack due to modifications to improve the comfort of the car. One of these main changes was the removal of the run flat tires in favor of standard tires. The V8 engine was tuned by Alpina in order to achieve greater torque delivery in lower RPMs, pairing nicely with a 5 speed automatic transmission to send drive to the rear wheels. By the end of Roadster V8 production, only 555 examples were built.
