After almost twenty years of lying dormant, BMW reintroduced the 8 Series for the 2019 model year. This new generation of 8 Series, known as the G15, saw the model offered in two door coupe (G15), two door convertible (G14), and four door fastback (G16). Both rear wheel drive, and four wheel drive (xDrive) variants were offered, powered by turbocharged inline six or V8 engines. Variants included the M8, a high performance version tuned by BMW Motorsport, as well as the 840i and M850i.
