The BMW M5 Competition Package - Automatic was a variant of the F10 BMW M5 that was introduced for the 2014 model year. The Competition Package largely consisted of upgraded and lowered suspension, as well as a substantial power increase from the engine. Although the same 4.4L twin-turbo V8 that featured in the Base Model was used for the Competition Package, output was increased. For 2014, power was 567hp, but from 2015 onwards, output was 591hp. Drive from the engine powered the rear wheels through a 7 speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Production of the automatic-equipped F10 M5 Competition Package ended in 2016 with the introduction of the next generation F90 BMW M5.
