The BMW M4 CSL was a special edition, high-performance version of the G82 BMW M4 that was available for the 2023 model year. The M4 CSL (CSL stands for Coupe Sport Leichtbau - Lightweight Sports Coupe in German) saw a return of the famous CSL name, which had previously featured on a range of notable BMW performance models during the companys history. A range of weight saving measures were used, most notably removing the rear seats, that resulted in a car 200 pounds lighter than standard cars. As well as the weight saving, the M4 CSL received various improvements to components like the brakes, suspension, and engine. Output from the 'S58' 3.0L twin-turbo inline engine was raised to 546hp, and it was sent to the rear wheels through an 8 speed automatic gearbox. Just 1000 examples of the BMW M4 CSL were built.
