The 325i was a variant of the E46 BMW 3 Series that was introduced for the 2001 model year. The 325i was offered in sedan and station wagon body styles, and was powered by BMW's M54B25 engine. This 2.5L inline six engine generated 184hp in North American specification (189hp in Euro spec), and sent its power to the rear wheels via manual and automatic transmission options. A four wheel drive version known as the 325Xi was also offered. Production of the E46 325i lasted until 2005, although the model series would continue life in the next generation E90 BMW 3 Series.
