The BMW 325e was a variant of the E30 BMW 3 Series. Introduced in 1984, the 325e was a powered by BMW's M20B27 engine, and was created to offer a fuel-efficient E30 variant. The 2.7L inline six engine was a torquey, low revving, engine that emphasized effieciency, thus the 'e' in model's name. For the first year of production, the 325e was offered in the coupe body style, but in 1985, a sedan version was introduced. BMW continued to build the 325e until 1988, when they discontinued the variant with just under 190,000 examples produced.
