The first generation of Audi TT was introduced in 1998. Also known as the Mk1, or Type 8N, the first gen Audi TT was initially released as a coupe, with a roadster variant released the following year. The Mk1 TT was available with a range of 1.8L turbocharged inline four engines, as well as a 3.2L VR6 option. The Mk1 Audi TT was in production until 2006, when it was replaced by the Mk2 Audi TT.
