Audi's third evolution of the S3, which was part of the 3rd Gen A3, was given a few significant changes. Introduced for the 2014 model year, the A3 featured a new front-mounted, turbocharged 2.0L inline four-cylinder engine was capable of almost 300hp, the highest output for an Audi four-cylinder at the time. It provided its power via an available manual or automatic transmission, but owners also had the option of a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.  The S3 also shed about 130lbs, aiding in handling in performance. Audi also designed the car with an "adaptive dynamic system," allowing drivers to select how the vehicle behaves during cornering. Production of the 3rd Gen Audi S3 ended in 2020.
