The launch, or Base Model for the 2nd Gen Aston Martin Vanquish was introduced in 2012. Available as a coupe or 'Volante' convertible, this all new Vanquish was powered by a 5.9L naturally aspirated V12 engine. This engine originally had an output of 565hp and 457 lb ft of torque, but a technical update for the 2015 model year saw a mild increase to 568hp and 465 lb ft of torque. At launch, the Vanquish was fitted with a 6 speed automatic transmission, but when the engine received its update, the gearbox was upgraded to an 8 speed automatic. Production of the 2nd Gen Aston Martin Base Model lasted until 2018, although a high performance Vanquish S model was also offered.
